Alight is raising funds for lifesaving maternal health services so that mothers and infants in Sudan can survive and thrive. Displacement and famine leave them most at risk of death and disability. Alight brings free, high-quality maternal care where it’s needed most, from antenatal visits to newborn resuscitation. Even in war, mothers deserve dignity, safety, and joy at birth.
With Sudan’s maternal mortality rate among the highest in the world, access to care can mean the difference between loss and life. Alight’s CeMONC centers are more than hospitals—they are places of hope where mothers like Faiza, Basma, and Hassania found safety. Together, we can ensure no woman gives birth alone.
Too many mothers face childbirth alone, with many Sudanese hospitals destroyed and care inaccessible. Alight’s CeMONC centers provide emergency caesareans, skilled deliveries, and postnatal care to ensure safe outcomes. Every baby born safely is a story of survival and hope.
Alight is fundraising to support Digaale's climate resilience. In Somaliland’s Digaale settlement, families internally displaced by prolonged drought and other extreme weather events, are co-creating a future of dignity. Together, we are designing climate-smart homes, reliable water systems, and sustainable livelihoods together with Alight, creative partners, and the city of Hargeisa. As the frequency of natural disasters intensifies across the Horn of Africa, your partnership can help scale this community-led blueprint for resilience, ensuring families not only survive today, but thrive for generations to come.
